After reading on the details and going on a virtual trip to the Kowloon Walled City I have a big change of perception on how cities could be built if architects don't exist. This is certainly a mind-blowing structure of the city. It consist 14 stories for each apartment and having the city in the lenght of 126cm and width of  213cm . After having a preview of Kowloon City I have realized how important the knowledge of built enviroment is . First and foremost, the city had zero penetration of sunlight which is one of the major need to live a healthy life. Plus, when there is no sunlight penetration then the place will have zero plants and trees which reduces the oxygen level of the place. This has caused many people grow ill in a very early age. Secondly, the fact that the shops are all mostly placed at the ground floor till the 5th floor , it has no light which instantly lacks in sanitization. This can cause many diseases spread around in a flick second. Thirdly, all the rooftops which is the major place where light can come is fully covered with rubbish which clearly gives a very bad aroma and air circulation, and this could have been solved if there was proper disposal area made. Next, if I looked in safety, this is place is no place to be out in the midnight because being dark you never know what can happen when and not having clear pathways and roads can make the elderly people fall down or lose stability and small kids can get hurt or lost because of the uneven and unorganized pathways. Moreover, living a positive life is a  very minimal chance in Kowloon because since there is no law to abid, criminal doings is at it's highest rate especially drug dealings, this has caused massive people in addiction which leads to even more issues carried on in the family and to the society. In conclusion , not abiding to the building law can really bring a city to chaos because not having a systematic structure can really bring some massive problems to the living and life of the people. This is something most of us are unaware of and i think i learned some valuable learnings from this virtual trip to Kowloon Walled City.

a scene which has highly impacted me

The part that most impacted me was the fact that whatever I had to say about how awful Kowloon was , in the end it was not their fault. I felt pity for them because at first the 5,000 people who settled in there were refugees and they were later just abandoned by both China and Brittain. It became a no-man land and still the people stood up as a society to live a life and carry on building a city even when it got burned. Having over 50,000 inhibitants they still called it a happy and comfortable life. If that was me living in there I would have drowned or probably gotten crazy in days. Apart from living in close and tight places they still carried on with four generations of family in one house. After hearing that I was completely amazed by their drive of actually surviving there and also running a business in the same time. That is just amazing and I am totally impressed with the citizens there.

From this reflection, I have had another different global perspective. I have never heard about this city till i attended the virtual trip today. This has indeed given me a different perspection towards the world I live in today.

I have had some in-detail information of how the built enviroment plays a vital part in our daily lives with a great example. This has given me a lifelong learning on how many small things around us matters like the roads and signs , everything is important.
